The Towers Theatre was open in 1975 and converted to a triple by 1990. The theatre went through an array of owners during its lifetime before it was closed. ABC Southern, Cineplex Odeon, Neighborhood Theatres and finally Regal.

This theater was actually called the Towers Theatre, as it was located next to Towers Mall in Roanoke. It has been demolished, and a newer shopping center was put in its place.

As a kid in the mid 70’s, I have fond memories of a program at Towers Theatre that offered summer kid movies for only 10 cents per movie, once a week morning shows. Movies such as Hello Down There, Support Your Local Sheriff!, The Shakiest Gun in the West, and The Reluctant Astronaut. I miss those days, along with Mt. Vernon Elementary School.
