Ralph Leachman ran a display ad for both the Rivoli and Plaza theatres in the 1930 Blackwell High School Yearbook. Blackwell High was designed in a superb Cubist styling. Unfortunately the building was replaced in 1962 with a new modern style school.

This lovely theatre design came from the drawing board of famed architect John Eberson.
This was also known as the Griffith Theatre.
A lost and forgotten jewel, the Rivoli Theatre was elegant, sophisticated, and had comfortable stadium style seating. Clear exterior/interior photos can be seen by typing in word “rivoli” …
