In the 1920’s my maternal grandfather owned the building at the SE corner of Joliet Rd & Ogden Ave. It is commercial on the first floor and apartments on the second. My mother said she often saw movies here. She took our family there once around 1960 but I cannot recall what we saw.

The have heavily added on to this theater. The original theater was where the main building begins. The entire front facade was added on when it became a funeral home sometime in the mid 70’s. Where you see the yellow bricks on the side of the building is where the original theater started.

This place was small. It only held about 400 seats. I remember going to see “633 Squadron” there in 1964. This was a third run movie house. Tickets were only $1.00. On Saturdays the place would be filled with kids coming to watch the movies.

This place now as a funeral home looks very run down.
