The Family theater was originally known as Hazle Hall and located on the northwest corner of Broad and Wyoming Streets. The hall was originally used as a meeting place for community meetings, dances, political rallies and some high school graduations. It became a vaudeville house known as the Family Theater when a new stage and balcony were constructed in 1905.
In 1915, the Family switched to an all film presentation and became a popular movie house with children and families due to it’s low admission price and special promotions.
The theater continued it’s operations until the early 1950’s. The building was razed in 1962 to make way for a bank expansion. A health club now exists on the site.

Below is a photo link of taken of the 1962 demolition of the Family Theater building. The theater entrance was on the right side of the building (Wyoming Street) at the rear corner. The auditorium was the large center section of the building. The roof and stage house of the Feeley Theater can be seen in the background.
