Still another comment from Jerry Reiter,“CASTLE KEEP” he said “just enough comedy and fighting to make it good"It played four days.
Manager Jerry Reiter in a March 1970 issue of BOxoffice said that the movie “THE WILD BUNCH” played the Rialto and said “FOR TOO MUCH BLOOD FOR MY PATRONS”,but he said he got many good comments. Played Wednesday- Saturday.Cold Iowa weather.
The earlier Rialto Theater was down the street and around the corner. The building is still there at 29 3rd Ave NE. The Boumas operated the “Old” Rialto from the 1920s until they constructed the “new” Rialto discussed above.
1985 photo of the Rialto, pretty much looks the same other than needs little paint here and there.

This appears to have been a replacement for an earlier Rialto Theatre. The February 1, 1939, issue of Boxoffice magazine said that Jack Bouma, operator of the Rialto Theatre in Pocahontas, planned to begin construction on a new theater there that spring. The plans for the new house were being drawn by the Des Moines architectural firm Wetherell & Harrison.

I don’t know. I was thinking maybe the marquee was set up for a movie shoot.
Was Spiderman 5 on the marquee or has the photo been “doctored”?
I think that was some kind of joke.
Spiderman 5 is playing?
