Opened as an independent by Simmons Theatres on 20th March 1936, the Savoy Cinema was located in the Reading suburb of Whitley.
It was taken over and managed by Associated British Cinemas (ABC) from 18th January 1937 and they operated it until it closed on 12th August 1961.
It was demolished and a supermarket was built on the site.
