We live in a small community with the nearest theater being a 30 – 40 minute drive from here. The theater has not been open for over 20 years and was in bad shape. We spent the last 5 weeks night and day working to get it ready to open. We own an audio/visual company and are doing this as a sideline for our community. The whole town cannot wait for us to have a grand opening. We had an open house for our Fall Festival and had capacity crowds. We have not been able to walk down Main Street without being stopped by enthuastic parents, children and old timer’s who got there first kiss in the theater asking when it is going to open. We are going to document the history of the town in the theater.

On page 64 of the 1956 Coweta High School Yearbook is a clear photo and display ad for the Joy Theatre, sponsored by Rex Beasley. Obviously this is the same theatre that is now known as the Coweta Cinema.
