Auditorium on opening day, displaying the original deep red velvet and gold tasseled closed house curtains surrounded by an illuminated proscenium. Photograph taken from circle shows detail of the upper side walls finished with hand painted murals. Other features are the splay walls with Aztec style fibrous plaster stepped and recessed fountains lit from below, either side are the gold grilles which conceal ventilation shafts, the area above the front stalls has an enclosed Art Deco zig zag design. Odeon in house three colour fan carpet is fitted throughout.
