The new Indiana Jones movie opened there today. Is it first run if the movie opens a month late?

Gackle is shrinking. I’m amazed that town of 290 (July 2006 estimate) manages to keep even a seasonal, part-time movie house running. But then, with a median household income of $27,500 and the median price of a house only $29,200 the residents of Gackle must have money to burn.

It’s open from May to December, according to the description. You probably just missed the last show of the year.

This article at Dakotafire says that the Krieger Theatre has closed permanently. The operators were unable to afford the conversion to digital projection.
