I can’t recall if the Southlake Plaza was initially a Plitt or an ABC cinema, but at the time of it’s opening they were pretty much the same in the Atlanta area. Although the cinema was no architectural icon, it was unique among the other multi-cinemas being built at the time. The cinema consisted of three different sized auditoriums (small, medium and large) all equipped with large, slightly curved screens, stereo sound and reddish orange coloured drapes and seats. The cinema closed about the time Cineplex Odeon opened a six-screen cinema about a mile up the road.

This theater was quite a step-up from the General Cinema Southlake I II III. The auditoriums were very nice and the large screens were enjoyable. Toward the end of its existance, you could smell disinfectant throughout the auditoriums.
The theater was the first to close before the AMC Southlake 24 opened. It was actually closed before AMC opened.
An auto detail shop sits on the property.
Thanks J.B.
