The Times Theatre opened on June 29, 1940 with “Waterloo Bridge” starring Vivien Leigh.

Address is 133 Broadway. Here is their Facebook page which has a few current photos of the exterior & interior that I will add to the Photos section.

Status should be changed then from demolished to renovating.

Nope building is still there. I didn’t take any photos when I was inside last week. I will next time though. It’s all torn apart now as they are doing remodel.

I was never able to get inside the theater to take pictures. I could only get exterior photos taken. I haven’t been back to Seaside in several years. So the building did not get demolished? I’d like to see any interior pictures. Any chance the current owner could post some interior pictures here?

Hello. Does anyone have photos of inside? Current owner of building is working on remodeling it and having it be a theater again. I am planning on getting married there actually. Would love any photos from inside. Photos from outside are great. Thank you KenLayton.

Does anyone here know when the Times Theater in Seaside, Oregon closed? I heard it was late summer of 1990, but I cannot find any information. I need month and year.

Thanks.

I’ve now found and scanned my pictures of the Times Theater and added them here.

I found those two on a Facebook page called Forgotten Oregon. I must have found 10-15 pics of various theatres, and I wasn’t even ¼ of the way through their photos section. I’ve already created 4 new CT pages for missing theatres based on what I’ve found. Still need to make one for the Parkrose when I have time.

I’ve got some pictures of this theater in my files. Just need to dig them out and scan them.

Note the Sunset Drive-In sign on the wall of the Times Theatre building. Gregory Kershul the owner of the Times, originally bought the Sunset Drive-In in Gearhart Oregon in 1955, before buying the Times Theatre in 1959. His obituary is below. I will add a CT page for the Sunset Drive-in.

What a waste! The Times was a great theater. Here they tear down the only good theater in town and leave that horrid dump the Cannes Cinemas. Now I will NEVER go back to Seaside again.

Sadly, now gone. The site now used for a massive time share complex.
