The Latham Drive-In opened in the 1960’s by the Hellman Theater Enterprises firm. It was located on Route 9 and could be clearly seen from I-87, just behind Hellman’s Towne Theatre (now an Acura dealership).
United Artists operated the drive-in for most of its life. It always remained a large, single-screen operation. It closed around 1989 and sat boarded up and ready to re-open for about twelve years before it was finally demolished.

The drive-in and adjacent land along I-87 was converted during the 1990s to several strip malls and big box stores. Home Quarters (HQ) was an original tenant, but they were replaced by Home Depot. There’s also a Hannaford, Walmart, Sams Club, CompUSA and numerous smaller businesses there now.
