The Texas Theatre served as a movie venue for downtown Bay City. It was located just one block south of the Matagorda County Courthouse. The building still stands, and a church congregation now meets there.

The Texas Theatre was built in 1927, and it was originally named the Colonial Theater. Gary Cooper’s film “Betrayal” played here.

This is what the building looks like. The address given for the Rhema Fellowship Church is 2227 Avenue F.
