The new Kroger that replaced the one on the Crescent’s site has a nice arial view of the theater, which was replaced by Kroger and other stores in the early-1970’s. Now there’s a Dollar General, CVS, Office Depot etc.

The Crescent was a neighborhood drive-in. Lots of memories. Saw many, many films there. S-W was a new release, Th, Fri, Sat was a double or triple bill of older films, B-films, that sort of thing. Had the neatest neon crescent moon and blinking stars on the tower facing the street opposite the screen side. When I think of the Crescent’s demise, it is the only time I really get sad about the drive-in era coming to an end.

I remember the Crescent well. Its facade was a Nashville landmark. Althugh I barely remember it, my parents took me there to see “Snow White.”

During high school days(60s)friends and I attended many movies there.

I passed the Crescent on way to summer job during summers of ‘70 & '71. I know it was demolished sometime in the 70s; I lived out of state from '71-'89.

The Crescent was a Nashville institution whose passing I’m sure was
mounred by many.

This and many other theatres in Tennessee and Alabama were built and operated by the Crescent Amusement Co. based in Nashville, Tenn.
