When the Rodeo opened in 1937 it was owned by Mr. Warren Hall. The first theatre in Burwell was the Electric that closed after the Rodeo opened. Later the theatre was owned by Mr. Stanley Cox of Bolivar, MO. Randy Gross was the projectionist and leased the theatre in 1992 from Mr. Cox with the option to buy at the end of five years. The Gross family purchased the theatre and own and operate it today.

The Rodeo plays first run attractions on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. They stay with G, PG, and PG-13-rated features. Randy has upgraded the sound system, a new platter system and new seats have been installed.
