From the Naples Daily News dated December 22, 2004:
“Lewis Webber and his brother-in-law decided to pool their money, borrow what more they needed and put up the first drive-in movie theater in Houlton, Me. His partner was also an active farmer, so much of the construction work was done by Lewis. On May 28, 1949, the grand opening was held for the Borderland Drive-In Theater, and they ran it until 1985. For the next four years, he offered the grounds to the Church for weekly services. Then in 1989 he sold the land and really retired”.
