In January, 1932, Box Office Magazine reported that the Bobby Theatre’s owner had decided to change the name to Snappy Theatre, but that apparently never happened. It was listed in Film Daily Year Books as Bobby until the theatre’s closure in the 1940s. The Bobby was cited as closed as late as the 1947 FDYB. The 1948 FDYB did not carry theatre listings, but when they returned in the 1949 volume, the Bobby’s listing had been removed.

NYC currently lists this address as city owned “Vacant Land”.

The American Motion Picture Directory 1914-15 lists the Electric Theatre, 1160-1162 Broadway.

It is listed in the Film Daily Yearbook;1926 and 1927 editions as the Electra Theatre, 1160 Broadway with 550 seats. In the 1930 edition of F.D.Y. it had been re-named Bobby Theatre with 500 seats and continued until at least 1941. In the 1943 edition of F.D.Y. the seating capacity of the Bobby Theatre had been reduced to 416. It has disappeared from listings by 1950.
