The Prairie Cinemas opened in around 1980 with three screens. It was converted into five screens in the 1990’s.
The seats and projection equipment was removed from the theatre when it was closed in 1997.
In December 2009, a lease was taken out on the building, and converted the 13,000 square feet building space into a retail sporting goods store, with indoor baseball and softball batting cages and training facilities, known as ‘The Bat Cave’.

Now a church (Apostolic Tabernacle), Foot Clinic and Chiopractor’s Office.
The church and other offices are in a building at the front of the property. The batting complex sits behind them. Here are some pictures taken yesterday of the former theater.

Holy Bat Cave!
Really, not a bad looking 5 screen theatre.Did a monster 20 plex open up down the road, seems like it could still be in use showing movies and not hitting baseballs!Sometimes it might have been staying with three screens.
Oh,thanks for the pictures,Trolleyguy.
