This building is just a shell. The roof is gone, as well as everything inside the theater. Demolition appears imminent.

Been like this for years just a shell…..
I went to this theater many times as a child and was told that my Great Grandfather’s only trip to a theater was at the Texan.
Here is a May 2008 photo. The building looks better than it did in the 2006 photos.

Last time I was there, a few years back, it still looked about the same. Altho, the inside was cleaned up. No “junk” on the inside. Just the foundation..

That theater closed in the early 80s along with the Trail drive-in when they built the Cinema 4 (Now owned by Cinemark) behind the old Bealls & Walmart shopping center. It has always been just “there” as if the city doesn’t know what they want to do with it. I only ever saw one movie there “Savannah Smiles” although I was 2 or 3 so I don’t remember it fully.
