Famous Players opened the Paramount Chinook in 2000 to much fanfare. The building has been designed with an Egyptian theme in mind. Many of the wall murals include the pyramids and a giant sphinx adorns the lobby with a laser light-show every half-hour on the weekends.
There are sixteen conventional screens and one IMAX format screen. The location also contains several branded concessions such as Pizza Hut Express, Burger King, Tim Hortons and TCBY.
The Paramount Chinook is located at Chinook Centre, Calgary’s largest shopping centre.
In 2008 it was re-named Scotiabank Theatre Chinook, operated by Cineplex.

This is our theatre and we love it,you can see from any seat and its nice and clean with very friendly helpfull staff.The Egyptian theme is amazing although Im used to it now after so many visits,friends visiting from elsewhwere are always enthralled by it.
This theater has a new name according to this website. “Scotiabank Theatre Chinook (formerly Paramount Chinook)”.
