Previously at this address had stood the Kansan Theatre, operated by Commonwealth Amusements from at least 1941. The Crest Theater opened on November 9, 1950, and was operated by Commonwealth Amusement Corp. Seating was provided for 985 in orchestra and balcony levels.
This former movie theater was renovated for use as a community theater. Some of its uses are musical concerts, dance, lectures and seminars. The Crest Theater was placed on the National Register of Historical Places in 2005.

Kevin, that is a great photo, makes you wonder how long it took the person that created that design to come up with a finished layout. You have a great hand with your photography and I have enjoyed all your photos, thanks so much. I doubt that CT will ever get their add a photo back. It would make it so much better with the photos being right there without have to click a link.
Thanks Chuck…here’s a photo of the Crest I just replaced, but maybe I had never posted it here before?

Thanks Kevin.
What an absolutely gorgeous theatre! Kudos to the town for not letting it slip away.
GREAT MARQUEE. LIGHTING DESIGN UNDER CANOPY MUST BE VERY UNIQUE WHEN LIT!!
