The Colonial Theatre was operating prior to 1941. It was operated for many years by John Sherwin.
In 1961, the building was sold to Gordon & Wilma Brown who operated the funeral home next door. The slanting floor was leveled and the theatre auditorium was converted into rooms for visitation and funerals. The two buildings are connected together. The establishment is now known as the Brown-McClay Funeral Homes Inc.

The Colonial located at 7 Main Street opened in 1940 and closed in 1955.
