The exterior of the building incomplete on 27th July 1948. The building had been open for 8 years at this point, but due to the materials restrictions during world war II the building could not be completed. Another photograph I’ve uploaded shows the windows sign and tiles being installed in around 1950. It is thought that the statues were removed at this point.
