That’s probably the case then LM.
I saw the build date Chuck. I was wondering if this theater opened as the Beacon, or did it have a previous name. For example, the Capitol Theater is listed in 1930 and the Beacon isn’t. In 1935 it’s just the opposite. The Beacon is listed and the Capitol isn’t.
On the link posted on 8/25/09 if you go to the middle and click on the photos tab you can see photos of the interior of the theatre. Click each photo to enlarge or do it as a slide show clicking each image.
LM, I see what he is talking about, the listeng lists Historic 1920’s Theatre and then in the lower portion it lists date built as 1920.
In 1930 the only theaters that I can find listed for Beacon, New York are the Capitol and the Paragon. The Beacon Theater is listed in 1935.
The listing says 1920.
Saw this theatre on my bike trip 2 weeks ago. The Realty sign on the marquee is large and here’s the listing. View link

According to an article in the Westchester County Business Journal, the city of Beacon is eyeing the theater for adaptive reuse.
Listed in the Film Daily Yearbook;1941 & 1943 editions with a seating capacity of 500. In the 1950 edition of F.D.Y. seating is given as 1,100.
