Opened April 15, 1950. Last night of operation was on August 31, 1989 (Wexford’s only other theater, the indoor Cinema Wexford, had closed only a month-and-a-half earlier)

Any word on of this will reopen?
A gorl at work told me that there is a church at the former site now :(
In 1975 the Starlight Drive-In had a capacity for 700 cars.
Renewing link.
Yes,in 1956 it parked 700 cars and was owned by Co-op.
Thanks Mike.
I do think it opened before 1956. I graduated June 1956 and remember many a high school nite At the Starlite. At our 25th reunion we went to a car show that happens there every Friday nite in the summer. It was on church property that takes up much of the old drive inn.
Approx. address for this drive-in was 12121 Perry Highway. Now North Way Christian Church.
I worked at the Starlite 1969-71. It was classic. In summer we ran a small amusement park at the front, for kids from 200 cars. In winter, we operated 3 days a week, to repeated showings of “Patton” and “Love Story,” watching 20 cars with steamed windows bouncing up and down, busily producing the next generation to play in the amusement park. At some point, that activity obviously declined!
BTW, I also got to change those letters on the sign out front. Any idiot could have broken into the shed (and often did) and put up any obscene message they so desired. If only the current church could have seen some of the old signs!
