Built in 1996 in the heart of Iqualuit, the capital city of the Canadian territory of Nunavut, by Bryan Pearson, the Astro got its projection equipment from a defunct movie theater elsewhere in Canada and now offers two first-run movies each week.

It has also hosted concerts and comedy acts on its small stage.

The Astro comfortably sits 135 patrons and is as up-to-date both technologically and architecturally as any other movie house in Canada, except this one happens to be the northernmost theater in North America.

The name is Astro Theatre. This was their website. The theater is open but the website is closing down.
