This theatre is a former Cinemark that was picked up by Starplex Cinemas, in 06', as part of a package deal that included two additional theatres, in Hilliard, OH and Lexington, KY (both now converted to Movie Tavern venues).

One large room and 9 smaller ones. Some rooms do not have digital sound.

This theatre was built on the cusp of the stadium seating era, and was built with that in mind. Because of this, the screens are quite high and there are some awkward viewing angles. No real improvements since construction.

This is, however, the only first run theatre in the fast growing western part of Franklin County (Central Ohio).

Installed 2 Digital Cinema units in May, 2009. Both capable of showing 3-D.

This theatre is now advertising that it is “100% digital and all stadium seating.” At least 3 rooms have 3D.

Strange to see AMC purchasing a former Cinemark location that Cinemark had given up on years earlier. Makes me wonder if AMC only purchased it with the intention of closing it to funnel more business to the AMC Rave 14 in nearby Grove City, OH.

A side note about this theater; Cinemark was originally offered the land where the AMC Lennox 24 stands. Cinemark passed on the location deeming it “too expensive” and decided to build this 10 screen location in Hilliard instead. The theater never lived up to Cinemark’s attendance estimates while the Lennox was one of the best performing theaters for AMC for years.
