Public hall: I don’t believe this theatre was built in 1928, but perhaps 10 years later. There is a photo here: http://www.jonesphotocollection.com/Obj6758$1091, that refers to it being the opening presentation. There was the Arcade Grand on the corner of 8th & K Streets, built in the early 1900s.

This was located where there is now a consignment shop — to the right of the VFW, a few offices down. Check this 1947 photo out in the new Jones Historic Photo Collection: http://www.jonesphotocollection.com/Obj8726$1091

It was built in 1928, but not as a theater. It was converted to the Arcade Theatre sometime later later and then the New Hoquiam. It is listed in the 1952 phonebook.

Isn’t this the one that’s now a Chinese restaurant?

When was it built? When did it stop being a theater? I thought I knew all the theaters in Grays Harbor, but I am unfamiliar with this one.
