I would enjoy seeing the history of Grants Pass theaters. If you are able to post a PDF document, with articles, that would be great information. I plan to drive to Grants Pass this spring and will check out which of the buildings, if any, are still standing.

The theater was began construction in 1919 after approval from the Grants Pass City council. Designed by Frank C. Clark, the noted architect from Ashland, Oregon, The theater was opened on December 29, 1919 just a couple of days before new years. There were earlier theaters in Grants Pass, beginning in 1906, namely the Bijou, The Star, The Gaiety, The Oregon, The Joy. Later theaters were the State, and then the Rogue Theater constructed in 1937. If you wish for more information complete information, I can give you the theater history in a PDF document with articles from the local Grants Pass Courier newspaper. plus photos of each theater.

Judging from the photos and captions at PSTOS, the Rivoli was on the east side of 6th Street at or near the corner of of E Street. The address would have been in the range of 301-305 NE 6th Street.

A survey of buildings designed by architect Frank C. Clark lists Hunt and Antle’s Rivoli Theatre at Grants Pass as one of his designs, with the date ca.1915.
