The Sky High Drive-In was opened prior to 1950. It was located at the intersections of US Route 322 and PA Route 257 in Cranberry, PA. In 1980, it was torn down to make way for the Cranberry Mall.
It was nothing elaborate. Unlike the Auto Drive-In, which was concrete, the Sky High was a metal frame covered with sheet metal on one side for a screen.
One of the people involved in the demolition of it told me it took two guys, one on each side to knock the bracing loose and let the screen fall over. The Carmike Cinemas at the Cranberry Mall sits roughly where the Sky High’s parking lot was.

In 1975 the Sky High Drive-In had a capacity for 400 cars.
In 1958 the drive-in was operated by the Kayton Amusement company.
Now if they would only fix the roof.
I have the SKY HIGH Drive-in parking 432 cars and in the late 50’s it was owned by Kayton Amusement Company.
Approx. address for this drive-in was 2415 Pennsylvania 257. Now Aldi Grocery NEXT to the mall. The drive-in was closer to the intersection of highways than where the mall stands.
