The theatre was opened by General Cinema probably in the early-1970’s. It was sold to Grengg’s in 1987 or 1988. In 1991 they expanded to six screens and added another concession stand in the addition.
They had nice Hayward hussey seats which are plush recliners. They are the same kind the Southtown Theatre in Bloomington, Minnesota had. I don’t think the newer theatres had them but I know the original ones did when “Star Wars-Special Edition” came out and a few years later.
In 2006 they added two “super screens” and stadium seating in all auditoriums.
When General Cinema sold the theatre, the manager transfered to Har Mar in Roseville, Minnesota. It is now operated by Micon Cinemas.
