The Lyric Live Theater opened July 24, 1919 as The Community Theater. Around 1925 the name was changed to the Lyric Theater. In 1939 the theater was remodeled and the name was changed to the Newburg Theater. By 1942, it was again known as the Lyric Theater. As a movie theater, the Lyric closed in 1955. In 2005, the name of this theater was changed to the Lyric Live Theater.
