Launched November 2, 1930 as the New Olympic Theatre. It likely procured some of the fixtures from the former Olympic Theatre on Fifth Avenue.

175K. I guess the cost of living is a little lower in Pittsburgh than in Los Angeles.

Ken, Had no idea it had become a tiny assisted living residence. Your link is a great contribution.

Ed also noted some AKAs in his 6/3/08 comment that should be added to the description.

The incorrectly spelled address in the description needs to be changed to Beechview. If you use that address, you will see a photo of the theater. It looks like it’s being advertised for sale.

The (Harris) Beechview Theatre also was known as the Olympic and New Olympic. The structure was used for many years by American Legion Post 740, but by 1983 it was boarded up and advertised as being for sale. The property was sold in 1997 for $200,000 and has a real estate tax value of $238,200. Unsure of its present use.
