I remember seeing Saving Private Ryan there, and, it is still one of the most emotional movie experiences I have ever had. It will never be as good as it was on the big screen. I remember crying, and the whole theather standing in ovation at the end.
Before the summer of ‘93: One Crazy Summer, The Manhattan Project, Haunted Honeymoon, Club Paradise, Three O'Clock High, Pinocchio, 101 Dalmatians, Bonfire of the Vanities, Raising Cain, Ferris Bueller, The Crying Game, Big, Beetlejuice, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Batteries Not Included, Disorderlies, Johnny Be Good, The Pope Must Die, Thelma & Louise, JFK, Without a Clue, Beverly Hills Cop II, F13 The New Blood, Eddie Murphy Raw, Wall Street, Fatal Attraction, Tango & Cash, Pretty Woman, Days of Thunder, Best Seller, Nuts, Empire of the Sun, Some Kind of Wonderful, The In Crowd, Ricochet, People Under the Stairs, Lethal Weapon 3, White Men Can’t Jump, Class Act, Crocodile Dundee II, Three Fugitives, Shakedown, Shoot To Kill, The Great Outdoors, Summer School…
That summer of 1993: Sliver, Last Action Hero, Rookie of the Year, The Firm, Jurassic Park, Cliffhanger, My Boyfriend’s Back, Hot Shots II, Sleepless in Seattle, Son-In-Law, Indecent Proposal, Free Willy, The Dark Half, Bad Moon…
Since then: Space Jam, Long Kiss Goodnight, Jerry Maguire, Bound, Sleepers, Ghosts of Mississippi, Trainspotting, That Thing You Do…years later I saw Rent….unnoteworthy night, last time.
Oh yeah, add The Fugitive and In the Line of Fire to ‘93…crazy summer.
Bad Moon came out in 1996.
When I was a kid, I remember seeing “The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai” here. I seem to recall that it was the ONLY theater in the Philly area showing it. My dad took me on a Saturday afternoon and we were among the SIX people watching the movie. The other four were wearing Japanese-style headbands.
Kind of a surreal memory.
the 1st theater i ever saw a film at, and my 1st job
The Marlton 8 began construction in 1982 around November and was completed by May 1983. I was a Projectionist/Engineer/ Marketing manager here from 1989 to 1998 when I transferred to help open our 24 plex at Neshaminy. I stayed with AMC until late 2006. And no, I really never believed house 7 was haunted.
