Here is a photo of the Monroe Theatre in its pre-porn days (probably 1961, judging from the movie on the marquee.)

A book published in 2006, “Preserving Paradise: The Architectural Heritage and History of the Florida Keys,” by George Walter Born, gives the address of the Monroe Theatre as 623 Duval Street. The building currently at 612 Duval was clearly built long before 1995, while the building at 623 is clearly of modern construction, though built in a vintage style.

In the late 70s, the Monroe was showing generic porn during the day and Deep Throat and The Devil in Miss Jones every night.

Bryan….I found that movie title by using Google. Imdb does list some adult movies, but as you have seen, their search engine won’t show some of them. I entered this into Google: “Blackmail for Daddy adult movie”. The first result was Imdb. Go figure. :)

Thanks Lost, I sort of thought that after I posted my comment, that they may be adult films, with the “Art” in the theater name at that time.

BTW….I think they were both adult movies and thats most likely why they didn’t show during a “normal” movie search.
