Opened as the Frisnia Theatre on December 20, 1946.

The theatre has been re-named Cinema and is now twinned, with the second screen located in the former balcony.

AMC closed the Cinema on July 28th, 2011. The next day would mark the first day Taylorville has had no movie screen since the mid 1920’s.
