Built cira-1890 as a funeral home, it became a single screen cinema late 1920’s with a seating capacity of 396. By 1941 it had been renamed Capitol Cinema and it was twinned in 1998.
In December 2007 former owner operator Kevin E. Brown became Bankrupt and the cinema closed. Property & Business sold by Royal Bank and the cinema is being prepared for re-opening in 2008

After extensive renovations (including an all new lobby and snackbar, the Capitol Twin reopened in 2009. All new seats in both theatres, Digital Surround Sound.
