Opened September 5, 1927, served both as a movie theatre and a light opera house. By the 1940’s, the theatre’s role was beginning to wane, with Famous Players opting to screen movies in a larger venue. In the 1960’s through to early-1980’s, it was used primarily as an auction hall and furniture storage. Efforts to restore the building began in 1988, it reopened fully restored, as an entertainment venue.

The outside of the theater is less than impressive but they have done a wonderful job on the interior.
I think it should be “theatre”, as that has been the consensus for the Canadian houses. Here is another view of the Capitol:

Not because it is located in Canada, because it is spelled “theatre” on their website.
There was also a much larger theatre in Nelson, the Capitol. Does anyone have info on the Capitol?
This is a 2009 photo of the Capitol Theater.
Here is an interior photo.

LLM, it works and is a good photo to boot. Guess I will have to get a photo bucket and put it in there as my own.
