Boxoffice, March 19, 1955: “Malco Theatres … has purchased the local Bellevue and Summer drive-ins from Kemmons Wilson and associates. The purchase, which gives Malco eight theatres in Memphis itself, was announced by M. A. Lightman jr., who is associated with his father in the operation of the circuit.”

The Bellevue Drive-In opened on September 22nd, 1950, with “Pretty baby and "Good Humor Man”. Grand opening ad posted.

Elvis supposedly went to see the movie, Sing Boy Sing, at a drive in a night or two before going into the Army. If that is indeed the movie he saw, it wasn’t at the Bellevue but instead at the Lamar Drive In, or so I think as I recall when I looked at newspaper microfilm for the ads.

New research shows the Bellevue open as early as 1951.

No trace of the Bellevue remains. For directional purposes, the address would now be 2350 Elvis Presley Blvd.

The Google map indicator is off by a mile or two. The Bellevue Drive-In was located near Guasco and 51/Bellevue/Elvis Presley

Living only 3 blocks from the Bellevue Drive-In we walked to the movies many a summer night there. Unfortunately it was demolished and is now occupied by a church.
