It is pretty clear from looking at the Google images that the Annapolis Summer Theatre building was never a movie theatre. This is confirmed by looking at http://www.kilduffs.com/RTA.html which shows photos of the former Republic, gives the address, states it was demolished a few years ago, and shows what is there today.

ASGT is an all-volunteer, non-profit community theatre with an outdoor stage. It produces “theatre under the stars” from Memorial Day to Labor Day each year. It has about 190 seats and is NOT a movie theatre. Visit www.summergarden.com for more info.

Okay, I get it. Do they use the building for storage?

Chuck….If the article is correct, this theater is open and should be listed as the Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre at 143 Compromise Street.

This article mentions that “The Republic on Main Street (currently the Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre Playhouse)”. The Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre has an address of 143 Compromise Street. Could the article be incorrect?
