The editorial gives a clue as to the location of this former theater. The library’s board of trustees purchased the vacant land where this theater once stood. The land is located between the library building and DeLango Automotive.

On an interesting historical note, the land that the board purchased was once the site of the Amenia Theatre, which played movies from the early 1950s until it burned down in 1974. Denice Quinn, the previous owner of the site, decided to sell it to the library to ensure that a vital part of the community remained in the space once inhabited by her parents' theater.
