Located in the district of Fuorigotta, in the areas Mostra d'Oltremare and Edenlandia, to the West of Naples. The Cinema Teatro la Perla opened in 1957 as a single screen cinema. It has recently be renovated and converted into two screens. Named after famous local actors, the Nino Taranto seats 410 and the Massimo Troisi seats 205.
The Cinema Teatro la Perla is a member of the Europa Cinemas Group. Afternoon matinee performances are family programmes consisting of cartoons etc, and evening programmes are popular releases.

During the 1960’s, (at least while I lived there up until 1969) La Perla showed English language movies catering to American servicemen and their families that were stationed in Naples.
