News About This Theater

Studio Movie Grill EpiCentre

This new luxury five-screen cinema opened December 12, 2008 in uptown Charlotte. It is run by Florida-based IPic Entertainment and offers state of the art technology along with regular concessions, high end food and alcohol. It is restricted to 21 and older after 7 PM.

It is the first new commercial theater built in uptown Charlotte in seventy years since the Tryon Theatre opened in 1938 and the first cinema to operate in uptown in thirty years since the Carolina Theatre closed in 1978. It was closed in early-2020.
