According to a January 28, 1950 story in Boxoffice magazine, Mr. and Mrs. Arvis Edmondson opened the ArVon Theatre that month, which had been under construction since May of 1949. The article said that the theater could seat 400 and included a cry room and parking lot.

The Twin Falls Times-News says Arvis and Vyonne Edmondson opened their new theater on December 16, 1949. They closed a smaller theater that they had built in 1946 and named they new showhouse by combining their two names.
One of their early films was rather quite daring for the small farm community of Paul, when most communities were used to a fare of B westerns: In March of 1950, they presented a four-day run of Roberto Rossellini’s ‘Stromboli,’ starring Ingrid Bergman. This was after the breaking of the scandal, which involved Miss Bergman and Rossellini, which led to her being condemned by a senator on the floor of the United States Senate.
According to locals, the theater changed to Spanish-language films in the 60s and the Edmondsons closed it in 1974 and it fell into disrepair. In 2001 some of the seats from the former Arvon were refurbished by the Boy Scouts and installed in the Wilson Theatre in nearby Rupert, which was undergoing a restoration.
In 2000 the building was partially torn down and converted to a tire storage warehouse for Magic Valley Tire. Magic Valley Tire’s location is at 25 West Ellis and the former Arvon, to my recollection, should be close by.
