Originally a livery stable dating from around 1900, located where Main, South Railroad and Mill Streets meet, the building was converted into the Mars Theatre in 1927. The theater was also known at times as the New Gem and Gem Theatre. The Mars closed in 1965 and today, the former theater building houses a funeral home.

The Mars Theatre building as a stable can be seen in this photo. A photo of the building as the Mars Theatre can be seen here. This photo shows the building today, housing the Heil-Schuessler funeral home.
