I went with high school friends to 2001: A Space Odyssey on a Friday or Saturday night. We were lucky to get in and had to sit in the first row. Wow!
Not only did “The Sound Of Music” played here during its 44-week roadshow engagement between 1965 and 1966…..

“Lawrence of Arabia” played at the Winston Theatre on August 22,1963 was also a Exclusive Engagement Showing.
Does this theater still exist? I’ve been trying to find it on Google Earth, but there’s nothing on 4th Street remotely like it.
Should be listed as Closed/Demolished. It would have been located net door to the Foothills Brewing.
Re. Bill’s question: The theater closed sometime in the early 80’s if memory serves. The building was not demolished, but it was converted to office space. It is the white building directly across the street from Foothills Brewery.
