From 1979 to 1996, the Gould Cinemas was a first-run movie theater, a second-run theater, a last-run theater, a babysitter, your shoes' worst nightmare, a playground, the world’s cheapest date, and a place to waste away a Saturday. You were there.

Most didn’t check the schedule…they’d just pop in and catch the middle of the movie, maybe stick around to see the beginning at the next showing.

Worst location anywhere…at the rear of the Gould Shopping Center (Capitol Expressway/McLaughlin/Tuers). To drum up business, the owners installed disco lights. Unbelievable.
