The Muvico Thousand Oaks 14 opened on February 27, 2009. The theater features fourteen screens with stadium seating and 4K all digital projection in every auditorium. The two largest auditoria are outfitted with balconies featuring Muvico’s Premier seating and service. There is one additional all Premier seating auditorium and a specially branded Pepsi Max auditorium with reserved seating.

The theater offers “typical” concessions and an in-house restaurant, Bogart’s Bar & Grill, which features American cuisine and a full bar. The theater is located within The Oaks, an “open-air lifestyle expansion of the super-regional shopping center in affluent Ventura County.” It was taken over by Carmike Cinemas in November 2013.

Designed by Behr Browers Architects, as the renderings show.

2600 seats, as the Ventura newspaper reports.

Style: What is that? Neo-Deco Faux-Classical Art-Googied Postmoderne? I guess we’ll have to wait for the academic critics who usually name styles to stop reeling and catch up with what theater architects are doing these days.

Originally was supposed to be Mann’s replacement for the Janss Marketplace 9 and Mann 5 at the Oaks, but the plans were soon sold off after nearly a million dollars invested in the project when they decided not to pursue it after all.
