The Grand Theatre opened in 1919. All seating was on a single level. It operated until at least 1955.

In 1963 the City of South Norfolk and the County of Norfolk (by mutural agreement) formed the NEW City of Chesapeake.

South Norfolk has been a “LOST CITY OF VIRGINIA” for 49 years!

Since the three theatres have been combined this one should be changed to Chesapeake, VA. As mentioned by Bob South Norfolk has been Chesapeake for some 49 years.
