The Arion Theatre was one of Burlington’s early theatres. It was located on N. Main Street at Valley Street. It operated into at least the early-1950’s, then became a restaurant. Any further info on the Arion Theatre would be appreciated.

In the header I put demolished but the building is still there it is a restaurant.
The November 23, 1946, issue of Boxoffice said that the Arion Theatre had recently reopened after a major remodeling. The auditorium had been expanded to accommodate 500 seats. The previous seating capacity was not mentioned.
my great grandpa opened the theater which was then owned by my grandpa. It was changed into a restaurant and club in its later years. Any information you have or any information you would like to receive would be much appreciated. please email me at
I did not know this was a theater, prior to restaurant. In 60s folks would take we kids to Arion Restaurant. I have always remembered two things — the pizza had a taste I would not identify until later years —– cumin seed, perhaps crushed, but not powder. Genius! I put crushed cumin seed on my homemade pizza to this day. And the gentleman playing the piano would play “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” for me.
I don’t know why Google Maps has fetched a location in Danville, far outside Burlington, for this theater. Until we get it fixed, here is a street view of the correct location at Google Maps' own web site.
The building has lost its marquee and vertical sign since the 1982 photo Chuck linked to earlier was taken. It is now occupied by the offices of EBS, a third-party administrative systems company.
